We had planned on filming this week's performance by returning band Evolove outside the Egyptian Theater on Sunset, but that plan was foiled when we arrived to find an event going on out front. Undaunted, we retreated up into the Hollywood Hills, hopped a fence and set up on a scenic overlook above the Hollywood Bowl.

It's been a busy couple of months since we last had Evolove on as part of our launch. And with new video, two new guitarists, and now a spot on this summer's Warped Tour, I don’t see them getting any less busy any time soon.

Here’s what bassist Billy Berman and singer Lucy Levinsohn had to say about what’s been going on with Evolove since their last performance:

GORILLACOUSTIC: A lot's happened since you were last on a few short months ago. Most notably the addition of two new guitar players. How is that new dynamic working out?

BILLY BERMAN: The new dynamic of the band is working great. We have tossed around the idea of having 2 guitar players for a long time. It really adds to the sound and we are very excited about song writing with this line up. The energy in the band right now is the best it has ever been and we have gotten a ton of positive feedback from our fans.

GA: You've also been featured on MySpace music twice now. How did that come about and has it helped open you up to a new audience?

BB: The Myspace features have been awesome. We were in talks with myspace music for a long time and we were just persistant about it. They have really helped us reach out to fans that we may not have been able reach ourselves. We are adding friends everyday that saw us on a myspace feature and telling us we are their new favorite band and that is a GREAT feeling.

GA: Tell us about your spot on the Warped Tour this summer?

LUCY LEVINSOHN: We have been invited by Goldenstate Records to come and perform for them on 4 dates at Warped Tour 2010. Colby, our guitarist, is good friends with Roger from the band Aerial who is signed to Goldenstate Records. Goldenstate needed another band and Roger suggested us. So we have Roger thank for this and the band is stoked!

GA: What mainstream music have you been listening to lately?

LL: It has been all over the place because I like to keep up with Top 40. The band's taste in music is super diverse and we all bring music to each other to share what we are listening to at that moment. To list a few that I have heard/seen passed around: Taking Back Sunday, Flobots, Dead Letter Circus, Breaking Benjamin and Mute Math

GA: What local band or bands (besides yourselves of course) should people be checking out?

LL: I don't get out as much as I would like, we keep ourselves pretty busy. A few of our faves are Elemenopy, Relax To Paris, The Material and Oh No Not Stereo.

GA: If you could team up with one popular artist for a song, who would it be and why?

LL: Personally I would love to do a song with Justin Timberlake. The band may kill me for my answer. I think he is an amazing songwriter, producer, singer and P.I.M.P.

GA: Word of the day?
